The team of Enter Koprivnica participated in the Meetings of Businessmen and Researchers at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FSB) in November 2019. Business meetings took place as part of the Project Day to mark the 100th anniversary of the FSB's founding. The Regional Center of Excellence for Robotics as a reference center for research, development and education in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence stands out as an example of good practice. The activities of the Center are directed towards research and development of advanced robotic applications in industry and medicine. Superior working and educational conditions for scientists, students, engineers and medical staff are provided, and at the same time it serves as a training ground for the development, testing and refinement of new robotic solutions and engineering methods.
Laboratories for industrial, medical and humanoid robotics are integrated, as well as a practicum for automation programming and a modern classroom. Within the Laboratory for Medical Robotics, a faithful copy of the surgical room is envisaged to allow preclinical testing of robotic applications in medicine. The Center is conceived as a regional center that, based on its infrastructure and advanced projects, will bring together researchers primarily from the region but also beyond Europe. This means more people in the research process from different educational and scientific backgrounds, who will form interdisciplinary and multicultural teams with the aim of improving scientific productivity and fostering innovation. In addition, it is open to the public, as a place for the spread of technical and robotic culture, primarily for secondary and elementary school students, but also for everyone else. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund with a total value of EUR 5.000.000. All of these events show that Industry 4.0 is recognized in Croatia and companies, students and society are willing to embrace its possibilities.
